    Actress Alyssa DiPalma likes to describe the punk rock opera “American Idiot” as “an assault on your senses, in the best way possible.”

    “It’s such a visceral show,” she says about the musical based on Green Day’s 2004 album of the same name. “You’re feeling things and seeing things and hearing things constantly for an hour and a half. It’s a lot.” The story deals with the difficulties of becoming an adult in a post- 9/11 world.
